ELLESMERE PORT police officers are warning people with drones not to use them within the Capenhurst area.
The force says it is investigating a number of reports of drones being operated in the area, which is restricted airspace.
The centre of the restricted airspace zone is the Urenco Nuclear Stewardship, formerly Capenhurst Nuclear Services.
Drones are prohibited from being flown in areas deemed sensitive, such as prisons or nuclear facilities.
The no-fly zone for drones, according to noflydrones.co.uk, is fairly expansive and includes much of Ellesmere Port, such as the Chester Gates Business Park, parts of Ellesmere Port Golf Course, Great Sutton and Childer Thornton.
A spokesperson for the police team, writing on the force's social media pages, said: "This is a congested area, anyone operating without authorisation will be prosecuted. Any information, quote IML 446 951."
