FOR 30 years the Hospice of the Good Shepherd in Backford has provided free palliative care to those in the local community with a life-limiting illness.

To celebrate these 30 years, the hospice has commissioned a handcrafted and unique iron Forget Me Not flower that can be dedicated in memory of someone special, or can be purchased to show support for the work the hospice has given over the past three decades.

Justin Caroe, fundraiser, said: “Each flower has been crafted by the talented team at the British Ironworks Centre for our supporters to celebrate the lives of someone special or to support us during our 30th year.

"Anyone can buy a flower, you don’t have to have experienced our care first hand here at the hospice.

“Memories stay with us for life and we hope our Forget Me Not Appeal will help our supporters remember and celebrate the lives of someone special to them.”

Carol Russell, staff nurse at the hospice, said: “Every flower tells a personal story, so whether you are making a dedication in memory of a loved one or as a way of supporting our cause, every donation will make a difference to people in our local community.”

All of the flowers purchased will be on display within the grounds of Chester Cathedral from Saturday, July 13 until Sunday, July 28.

You will also receive the flower as a colourful keepsake which the hospice will post out to you after the display has ended.

Each Forget Me Not flower is available for a donation of £30 each. They can be purchased via www.hospicegs.com or by calling 01244 851811.
