ENTERPRISE car rental service is set to move from Station Road to Manchester Road, after planners gave the green light.

The plans for a pre-fabricated office and parking space at the junction with Austin Street have been approved by Cheshire West and Chester Council.

The former MC Cars dealership office has been demolished to make way for the new single-storey space.

A planning statement said: "Over time and as the business has developed it has outgrown the space available for lease.

"Subsequently cars are often parked on land outside of their [premises] causing problems with neighbours and general operational challenges.

"A change in circumstance is therefore fundamental to the continued success of this business in Northwich.

"An opportunity to lease the applicant site is an ideal promotion to a larger, purpose-developed facility to meet the present and future needs of the business."

Enterprise proposes to remodel the land to include the new office building, a valeting area, a 32-space car storage area with two additional large vehicle spaces, a forecourt area with 15 spaces, and two 'Car Club' spaces.

The proposals put forward will employ seven office staff and three drivers.

The statement added: "In accordance with current contemporary rental practice, many of the rental vehicles are delivered and collected from customers' properties meaning a number of customers do not actually visit the site office."
