THE new carbon capture plant at Tata's Winnington Works will reduce emissions equivalent to taking 22,000 cars off the road.

The facility is set to be operational in 2021, becoming the largest plant of its kind in the UK – removing 100 times more carbon dioxide from the atmosphere than the country's current largest facility.

Northwich Guardian:

Each year, 40,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide will be captured at Winnington.
