THE biggest show in town is set to make its return next week for the 107th occasion.

The Wilmslow Show will take place from 11am to 5pm on Sunday, July 7, at Carnival Field.

A host of popular events are set to return, including the dog show, which was axed last year due to hot weather.

Angela McPake, chairman of the Wilmslow Show, said: “This year we celebrate the 107th annual show, and to mark the occasion we’re adding some exciting new acts which will be hosted in our main arena.

"We’re including both a motorbike display and a BMX display, as well the return of more traditional acts such as the dog and duck herding."

As preparation steps up, Wilmslow Show organisers have been handed a £2,500 boost from Taylor Wimpey – which built the new Heathfield Farm development, in Dean Row Road.

“We’re delighted to have Taylor Wimpey on board as one of our main sponsors and really cannot thank them enough for their generosity," Angela said.

“The support has made such a huge difference to us and has enabled us to make sure the event, in particular our entertainment for the main arena, is something not to be missed.”

Chloe Dunn, sales and marketing director for Taylor Wimpey Manchester, added: “The Wilmslow Show provides a focal point for the town, as well as allowing many local voluntary and charitable bodies to raise funds.

"We’re extremely happy that we’re able to sponsor the show and be part of such a historic event within the local community calendar.”
