A SOFT play centre proposed for Barons Quay could welcome up to 90,000 visitors a year, plans suggest.
Cheshire West and Chester Council has put in for a change of use at a pair of units between H&M and Wildwood, to be used for soft play with a cafe and mezzanine level.
The application suggests the development could increase footfall through Barons Quay and the wider town centre.
Cllr Sam Naylor is a CWAC member for the town centre.
He said: "It has been a long time in the pipeline.

"I have got grandkids and they have had to go out of town for this kind of facility, so there is definitely a need for it and there's no better place – in my mind – than at Barons Quay.
"It's a good space and it's a facility that can open for a considerable period of time and help increase footfall in the town centre."
