FIREFIGHTERS received reports of fallen power lines in Ollerton due to a crash.

SHORTLY after 2.30pm firefighters were called to the scene at Heron Pool in Chelford Road.

Two fire engines attended, one from Macclesfield and one from Nantwich.

On arrival crews discovered that the collision involved a car and a telegraph pole.

No-one was trapped inside the vehicle but damaged power lines had fallen on the ground a hedgerow.

The hedgerow ignited and a power line was sparking on the floor.

An inner and outer cordon was set up for the occupants of nearby properties and firefighters.

The occupants have been advised to stay indoors as a precaution.

A man has been taken to taken to hospital as a precaution.

The utility company has now isolated the power to the lines and removed fuses.
Fire crews are waiting for checks to be carried out to confirm that the lines are safe
