A DISUSED barn in the grounds of a grade II-listed farmhouse in Davenham will be converted into a house, after plans were approved.
The barn at Mount Pleasant, in Hartford Road, will be converted and outline permission has also been granted for four detached homes to be built in the former gardens to the south.
New access will also be created from Hartford Road to the east of the farmhouse.
No objections or comments were received by any consultees or members of the public.
The planning statement, submitted in January, said: “The proposed works to the existing structure of the barn would enable it to carry on in use once its original purpose is no longer viable and ensure that the building is continued to be maintained.
“The proposed change of use of the barn creates an additional dwelling within an existing structure and not one of a new build, also conforming to principles of policy favouring small sustainable infill development.
“The proposed dwellings would be designed to enhance their immediate surroundings and be sympathetic to the current barn and adjacent listed farmhouse.”
