A NEW path through the wood next to St John's the Evangelist, Norley, has been completed after work continued through days of heavy rain.
Work began on Monday, June 10 and was completed on Friday to improve access to the mixed woodland of around a hectare.
As well as being a quiet place to reflect and enjoy wildlife, the wood is used by Scouts, Cubs and Norley CE Primary School children – and also forms part of the Norley Wildflower Memorial Walk
The 80m path, which includes a contemplation zone, was made possible thanks to a Lottery Community Fund grant of around £3,500.
The application was made by landowners Norley Parochial Church Council and Norley Wildlife Group, which ensured wildlife benefits were highlighted.
It is another improvement to the space which has seen improved access, bluebell planting and bird and bat boxes introduced in recent years.
