THE Roberts Bakery band is all set to make its debut at this year’s Royal Cheshire County Show.

The Cheshire-based ensemble will headline on Tuesday, June 18, bringing a lively new direction to its four performances on the day.

The final setlist is still under wraps, but the band’s musical director Paul Lovatt-Cooper has revealed that it will include well-known hits from international artists Justin Timberlake, Beyoncé and Coldplay.

“We’re really excited to be performing at the Cheshire Show for the very first time and we can’t wait to wow visitors with a brilliant line-up of funky, modern tunes,” said Paul.

“The band has just had a radical ‘next generation’ makeover and we’re very much about embracing all things new in everything we do.

"What we have planned for the show is definitely not what you’d expect from a brass band at all."

The 30-strong band will play at the live arena outside the Roberts Bakery Food Hall at 10.30am and 2pm and on the bandstand at 4pm.

Members of the band will also perform an exclusive concert at the Presidents Lunch.

The bandstand is opposite a giant 10-metre high inflatable tent where the band’s sponsor Roberts Bakery will be sampling its new ‘Digestion Boost’ range of Heroic Wholemeal, Wondrous White and Seriously Seeded bloomers.

The bloomers all come in 100% recyclable bread packaging – the first of its kind to be developed in the UK.

Graham Finnigan, community champion at Roberts Bakery, added: “Cheshire is very much our heartland, so we’re thrilled to support the Cheshire Show for the 14th consecutive year running and to see the band play here for the very first time.

"It promises to be a terrific two days at the show with the band sharing its unique brand of music and our huge inflatable turning plenty of heads.

"It’s our way of showing everyone that this local business is not afraid to break tradition by getting out there and campaigning about really important national issues, like health and the environment.”
