CARD Factory has opened its doors at its new Barons Quay unit today.

The store joins the likes of Sports Direct, H&M, The Entertainer, Odeon and Wildwood at Barons Quay, with a new bar and street food eatery, Barons Quay Social, also set to open soon.

A Card Factory spokesman said: “We are thrilled to be opening a new Card Factory store in Barons Quay shopping centre and look forward to sharing our fantastic range of cards, gifts, balloons and gift wrap with the shoppers of Northwich.”

With Sports Direct and Card Factory both relocating from other areas in Northwich – Card factory from Weaver Square and Sports Direct from Northwich Retail Park – some residents have said they would rather see new shops come to town at Barons Quay, but a Northwich councillor says Barons Quay provides a perfect opportunity for these retailers.

Cllr Sam Naylor, Northwich Witton member at Cheshire West and Chester Council, said: “Card Factory opening at Barons Quay today is welcomed news.

“OK, it is relocating from Weaver Square, it’s not a new shop to the town, but Weaver Square is now beyond repair. Barons Quay is now a brilliant opportunity for companies like Card Factory to do better at a new location in Northwich.”
