BOOTS staff have saddled up to support a brave Rudheath boy being treated for a rare cancer.

Saul Barry Hayden, eight – whose mum Vicki Kay-Spruce works at the Witton Street store – was diagnosed with Hepatoblastoma in April and is undergoing a powerful course of chemotherapy at Alder Hey.

The rare childhood cancer begins in the liver and, in Saul's case, spread to his lungs and one of his arteries.

Northwich Guardian:

In honour of 'Super Saul' and his family, the team at Boots borrowed an exercise bike from Dave's Gym and kept the wheels turning for the whole working day on Tuesday, May 21.

Their efforts raised £161.70 for Alder Hey.

Meanwhile, friends of the family have set up a PayPal pool to help out, with time off work increasingly necessary.
