A FUNDRAISING team scaled the heights to support a local charity.

Eight members of staff from Altrincham company IHS climbed to the summit of Mount Snowdon raising £1,000 for the Children's Adventure Farm Trust (CAFT).

Taking the Snowdon Ranger Path, they climbed 3,560 feet to reach the top and enjoyed a well-earned hot chocolate, before heading down to celebrate their amazing achievement.

The climb was part of the company’s pledge to support the charity. Later this year, it will send a team of volunteers over to the charity’s Cheshire base to help maintain its ten acres of land.

Richard Kennaugh, executive director at IHS Markit, said: “It was a great team-building and volunteering activity supporting one of our local charities.

"We are already looking forward to the next project which will see us rolling up our sleeves so that CAFT can continue its wonderful countryside breaks for children.”

CAFT’s Jure Modic said: “This was a wonderful day with a fantastic group of people. Snowdon is never an easy mountain to climb, there are always challenges along the way, but every member of the team met these challenges with great humour and enthusiasm."

She added: "The money they have raised will make a huge difference to the children we support here at the Adventure Farm. With their help, we can continue to change the lives of these children who are in desperate need of our help.”

CAFT enables local ill, disabled and disadvantaged children to visit its farm for holidays or day trips. It needs to raise £1million this year for the visits to continue and is urging people to support its fundraising events.
