CHILDREN at Great Budworth Primary School have shown off their new Balanceability skills to parents and carers.
The pupils demonstrated what they had learned during a five-week course, including picking up and storing the bike, and cycling carefully around a course.
The scheme aims to boost confidence and motor skills – as well as core strength and control of the bike – through weekly sessions.
Teaching assistant Chelsea Bratherton said: “The course is run once a year, giving the children enough time to get familiar with the balance bikes.
“The sessions run during the PE lessons and the children can bring their own bike in from home or use a school bike.
“It builds confidence, focusing on gross motor skills, spatial awareness and dynamic balance skills – enabling young children to cycle without ever needing stabilisers.”
At the ‘Balanceability Presentation’ showcase, participants received certificates at level one for pre-school children and level two for reception.
