TOM Kerridge has signed up some of Knutsford’s top talent for next month’s Pub in the Park at The Lambing Shed.

Fine Lines are one of the featured acts to play on the Saturday, a band which features BBC Radio 2 and 6 Music’s Mark Radcliffe, a well-known Knutsford resident.

Polar States will also open the festival on Friday, and local chef David Mooney and Gustavo Serrano, executive chef from Knutsford’s Evuna will be joining the line-up of celebrity chefs for the chef demos.

Performing ahead of Cast and Fun Lovin’ Criminals, Antony Jardine from Polar States said: “The band are really excited about playing with such a great line-up on the Friday evening.

“We have been playing all over the UK this year and are heading off for gigs in Europe later in the summer, but the chance to perform in front of a local crowd at such a great event will be amazing.”

Fine Lines will perform on Saturday evening, warming up the crowd ahead of the Stereo MCs and headliners Texas.

They released their new album ‘Gaslight Roses’ on March 22.

David Boardman, lead singer and songwriter said of the new material: “This album features a more Americana sound, so we feel it’s a perfect tie in with Texas.

“We’re really excited to be playing such a great gig in our home town; it’s going be such an honour sharing the stage with Texas and the Stereo MCs.”

The new material marks a slight departure from the band’s previous folksy sound.

The album features Mark Radcliffe, who plays drums for the band as well as being involved with co-writing material for the new album.

As well as a stellar music line-up the festival caters for a distinctly foodie crowd.

Chefs from around the country, as well as Tom Kerridge himself, will be showcasing their talents with live demonstrations over the three- day event.

Knutsford’s own David Mooney is one of the chefs who will be in attendance at the festival.

David Mooney said of the festival: “I absolutely love the combination of food and music; I think it’s a huge spectacle for Knutsford and it’s great to see the festival returning because it was incredible last year.”

Joining Tom Kerridge will be a total of nine chefs, including Richard Williams from Mobberley’s Church Inn and Andrew Greenhouse from Cheshire’s Cholmondeley Arms.

New to the festival this year is a KraftyKidz area, where children can let their creativity shine.

The festival takes place at The Lambing Shed from June 7 to 9.
