MIKE Amesbury has asked Theresa May to press on with getting 'justice' for victims of the leasehold scandal.

The issue has left new homeowners out of pocket across the UK, including in Northwich at the Winnington Urban Village development.

Where leases are subject to rising ground rents and expensive freeholds, owners say the homes are becoming 'unsellable'.

Mr Amesbury asked the Prime Minister: "Now that the PM is about to move house anytime soon, will she give that a little more focus and urgently address this issue and give leaseholders justice?"

Mrs May said: "We have been listening to those who raised concerns about this particular issue.

"Last year the housing secretary announced that no new government funding scheme will be used to support the unjustified use of leasehold for new houses.

"We have had a technical consultation on how to improve the market for consumers, we are analysing the response to that.

"We will respond to that and the recent select committee report on leasehold reform shortly and we will introduced legislation in due course."
