A MAN has been charged with several thefts of caravans and theft of a Land Rover from Byley.

Detectives investigating a series of caravan thefts have charged Lennon McMahon, 18, of Southam Close, Coventry.

McMahon was arrested on Monday, May 20, when officers stopped a vehicle on Wrexham Road near Whitchurch.

He has subsequently been charged with a total of 19 offences - including seven counts of theft and two counts of theft of a motor vehicle.

A second man was also arrested during the vehicle stop. Curtis Beston, 24, Laneside, Coventry, has since been charged with theft of a motor vehicle and being carried in a vehicle without the owner consent.

The charges relate to incidents in Byley, Leicestershire, Warwickshire and Pwllheli spanning four weeks over April and May this year.

In Byley, McMahon is charged with four caravan thefts, attempted theft of a Land Rover Discovery and the theft of a Land Rover Discovery, as well as two counts of theft of a leisure battery and criminal damage.

The pair have both been remanded in custody and await to appear at Crewe Magistrates’ Court today, Wednesday.
