PUPILS and teachers at a Winsford school are celebrating after receiving a prestigious accolade.
Grange Community Nursery and Primary School has been awarded a Primary Science Quality Mark, a national recognition of their high quality science provision.
The Primary Science Quality Mark (PSQM) acknowledges effective leadership of science, enables schools to work together to share good practice and is supported by professional development led by local experts.
It encourages teacher autonomy and innovation while at the same time offering a clear framework for development in science subject leadership, teaching and learning.
Schools that achieve PSQM demonstrate commitment and expertise in science teaching and leadership.
Inquisitive pupils at the Grange Community Nursery and Primary School are keen to learn through exploration and independent investigation
The PSQM is led by the University of Hertfordshire School of Education in collaboration with the Primary Science Teaching Trust.
The receipt of this award is a reflection of the hard work and determination of both staff and children to raise attainment in not only science, but all areas of the curriculum.
Head of school Sara Albiston said,"We are so lucky to have such inquisitive children who are keen to learn through exploration and independent investigation.
"The community at Grange are delighted to have received the Primary Science Quality Mark as it shows the high standard of teaching and learning taking place right across the school."
