TWO companies in Northwich and Winsford have teamed up on a three-year exclusivity contract.

After years of working together on a partial contract, Lostock Gralam-based Jack Richards and Son has been appointed as the sole transport provider for Jiffy Packaging, on the Winsford Industrial Estate.

The haulage firm has secured 100 per cent of the contract after proving its quality and efficiency of work.

Barrie Allen, technical director at Jiffy, said: “From the turnout of the drivers to the courtesy of the office staff, the entire operation is seamlessly professional.”

Jiffy's customer base spans from north Scotland down to Taunton in Somerset, and Jack Richards and Son has now increased its fleet

General manager Mary Doyle said: “We are absolutely delighted to have won the Jiffy business – it reinforces what a great relationship we have with them.

"A contract like this also gives us greater stability for the company and helps us keep jobs secure. To help us win the work, we created solutions for their needs and kept the numbers competitive.

"We are a national company and we scale our solutions to suit each customer’s requirements.”

The company's newer Euro 6 DAF trucks produce 7 per cent less carbon emissions than their predecessors, with the entire fleet less than four years old.

Founded in 1956 with a single truck, it now has more than 330 vehicles and 700 curtain-side trailers.

Jiffy Packaging was established in 1964, and has seen major investment over the past 12 months.
