GOLD medal-winning Olympian Jason Kenny has opened a new cycling shop near to the town centre.

Ron Spencer Cycles was officially reopened on Saturday, May 11, following its move to Crossley Street.

The store was previously a fixture on Orford Lane, celebrating 40 years in its familiar home in 2018.

And Kenny, who lives in Knutsford, was on hand to declare the shop officially open once more at the weekend in its new location near to the Cockhedge roundabout.

The 31-year-old track cyclist is one of the sport’s highest profile stars in the UK, having picked up a total of six gold medals with Team GB at the 2008, 2012 and 2016 Olympics.

Ron and Margaret Spencer first stared the business when the couple were in their 30s, and would go on to serve the people of Warrington with new bikes and repair ‘until their last days’.

Their children Suzy and Paul Spencer took over the running of the store around five years ago.

The new-look shop will focus on road bikes and high-end products for athletes.
