A WEEKLY bus route is to be reintroduced at Delamere Park, 10 years after the previous service departed.

Antoinette Sandbach, MP for Eddisbury, has joined residents in celebrations after Cheshire West and Chester Council decided to bring the service back on a trail basis.

The Eddisbury MP has worked closely with both the Bus Service Working Party – set up by Delamere Park Management Limited – and CWAC to secure the reintroduction.

From July 31, the 48 service between Northwich and Frodsham will be re-routed to Delamere Park, via the A49, each Wednesday for a trial period.

In time, the service could be expanded to include additional days and longer hours.

Antoinette said: “I am delighted to have been able to assist the working party in their negotiations with CWAC.

"The new bus service is a great addition to the existing community support transport services and it will better connect residents of Delamere Park to the rest of our community.”

Janet Wilkinson, of the working party said: “We really appreciate Antoinette’s invaluable support and all her hard work in helping to putting forward our case to CWAC.

"We anticipate great excitement on July 31 when a bus visits Delamere Park for the first time in over 10 years.”
