A FUN-FILLED duck race is being held at a country pub.
The Hare and Hounds in Crowton is hosting a family fun day on Bank Holiday Monday May 27 from 12 noon.
A stream runs through the pub grounds on Station Road and there will be a trophy for the best dressed duck and prizes for the first three across the finishing line.
The duck race proved very popular last year
Attractions include a barbecue, tombola, face painting and The Clockmakers band will be performing.
Helena Griffiths and Mark Tilston took over the pub after a £200,000 refurbishment in 2018 and are keen to continue the traditional duck race.

"It is a big family fun day and was massive last year," said Helena. "Our chosen charities are Petty Pool and Crowton Primary School. It is a community event."
Hot dogs, veg burgers and halumi burgers will be cooked fresh throughout the day and there will be an outside bar.
Volunteers will act as duck marshalls to co-ordinate the fun-filled race on a stream beside the pub
"There will be a carnival atmosphere," said Helena. "We have spent tens of thousands of pounds outside, the gardens are all completed now."
An appeal is now being made for stallholders, selling non food and drink items, to take part in the event.
