It could be the least anticipated election held in UK history, but across the country people are set to head to the polls to elect their Members of European Parliament next month.

Voters will choose members of the European Parliament who will be sent to represent all of Wales in Brussels and Strasbourg for either the next five years, or until the UK leaves the European Union via the Brexit process.

Britain was due to exit the European Union on March 31, but due to an extension to the Brexit process will now take part in European Elections next month.

Prime Minister Theresa May says if a deal gets through Parliament before that date, the UK will not participate.

Eight parties are putting candidates forward for the election, with Matthew Dorrance, Labour leader on Powys County Council, and Brecon councillor Sam Bennett on the ballot paper for Labour and the Lib Dems respectively.
