A 33-YEAR-OLD woman arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after a man was stabbed in his torso has been released on conditional bail.

At around 7.40pm on Bank Holiday Monday, April 22, officers were called to College Street to reports that a man in his 30s had been stabbed in a "domestic incident".

He was taken to hospital for treatment to a wound to his torso, which police have described as non-life threatening.

Following enquiries, a 33-year-old woman from St Helens was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder.

She has today, Wednesday, April 24 been released on conditional bail.
