LESSONS were shelved for the afternoon when Easter celebrations started at Delamere Church of England Academy.

It all began with an Easter hunt around the school grounds to ensure children earned their treats with plenty of exercise.

The hall was packed chock full of parents who cheered their children on during a cracking egg rolling competition.

Children had a smashing time when given free range to use their imaginations for the annual egg decorating competition.

Julie Clayton, head of school, said: “The children had a fantastic day. It is always one of the highlights of our year to see their creations in the egg decorating competition.

“We clearly have some very talented and imaginative children.”

Delamere Academy is part of North West Academies Trust (NWAT), which manages a number of schools across Cheshire and Shropshire.

The school in Stoney Lane is ranked the highest performing primary in West Cheshire according to the latest performance tables.
