WE asked for you for the places in Warrington where you were served fast and with a smile.

And once again we were flooded with nominations for our latest Customer Service Awards category.

Based on the volume of nominations and the nominations that had a really personal touch, we have put together the following shortlist for readers to vote on.

The winner will be announced in a special supplement in the Warrington Guardian newspaper later this spring and decided based on 50% readers' votes and 50% judges' final decision.

THE SHORTLIST FOR WARRINGTON'S BEST FOOD TO GO SERVICE

1. Cafe at the End of the Universe/ Dark Side of the Spoon - Warrington Market

Run by a brother and sister duo over two floors of Warrington Market, Cafe at the End of the Universe appears to be a firm favourite with the town's burger fans while Dark Side of the Spoon is proving very popular to anyone with a sweet tooth.

The burger joint's TV and movie-themed weekly specials were regularly mentioned among their nominations as a reason customers keep coming back as well as the smiling staff.

One nomination added: "They are always friendly and helpful and they put extra thought into their menus with an imaginative special each week."

2. Danny's Kitchen - Bridge street, town centre

Described by one nomination as a 'Warrington institution', this popular town centre chippy regularly has a queue out of the door.

The nomination added: "Danny's Kitchen isn't just any old Chinese/ English takeaway, it's a rite of passage.

"You can be sure to be served promptly by the whole team. It'll be here for generations."

3. Tasty Bites - Birchwood Boulevard, Birchwood

This Birchwood butty van serves salads and hot specials to a loyal following in the Birchwood area.

One nomination added: "Starting up a business from scratch is hard but Tasty bites have done a fantastic job.They are quick and efficient, polite and hard working."

4. Longshaw Street Cafe - Bewsey

Whether it's a full English, picnic with the kids or a snack at lunchtime, this cafe has got you covered.

Nominations said there was always a 'warm' atmosphere and it was a 'great place to have a bite to eat with friends'.

Another added: "Every time I've been in there it's rammed full of people yet all the girls still have a smile on their face and get things sorted so nobody has to wait longer than they should."

5. Heath's 26 - Walton Road, Stockton Heath

Described by one nomination as the 'best brunch spot in Warrington', this cafe serves everything from paninis to croque monsieur and eggs benedict.

They were also praised for the way they deal with allergies.

One nomination added: "They always make it easy for me when I ask for a gluten-free option and I really like their Slimming World options too."
