A WALLASEY woman has lost five stone in just four months in a bid to achieve her dream of having a baby.

Cherie Lupu, 29, had been told that she has fertility issues and was told that the only way for her to have a chance at becoming a mum would be through IVF treatment.

However at 21 stone Cherie was told that her BMI of 47 was too high to be considered for NHS funded fertility treatment, which requires someone to have a BMI of 30 or under.

Healthcare assistant at St George's Nursing Home, Cherie told the Globe: "I’m a walking disaster when it comes to dieting and have tried every plan going.

"Being big made me feel very uncomfortable in a gym environment and I would eat for comfort – it was a vicious cycle.

"At the start of the year I just said to myself enough is enough, my weight was standing in the way of me becoming a mum and I knew I had to take drastic action."

After speaking to friends, Cherie found out about Bodyline Weight Loss and Wellness Clinic in Birkenhead and plucked up the courage to make an appointment.

She added: "From my first meeting with the clinical team I knew it was going to change my life.

"The doctors and nurses are totally non-judgmental and so supportive and have given me a personalised plan that I can stick to.

"In a relatively short space of time I’ve lost five stone, that’s nearly a quarter of my original body weight. I don’t recognise myself when I look in the mirror.

"Not only do I feel healthier than ever before, my dream of becoming a mum is coming closer with every pound I lose.”

Cherie has now turned her life around and is now looking forward to starting fertility treatment to achieve her dream of becoming a mum.
