A NEW vintage and upcycling shop called Farrow House has opened in Blakemere Village.

The new shop has incorporated both new businesses and existing stall holders from Peggotty’s Attic.

Ginny White, director of Blakemere Village said: “Farrow House was traditionally the barn where the sows gave birth to their baby piglets in our original farm setting at Blakemere.

“We are delighted see Farrow House in its new guise as a specialist vintage store. The team are wonderfully skilled at sourcing rare and covetable items as well as breathing new life into reworked goods.

“Visitors will be able to browse this vintage emporium and support local businesses, exploring the site further for even more independent shopping, and hopefully joining us for some of our events during our 25th Anniversary celebrations this year.”

The store’s relocation comes at an ideal time for the team at Blakemere Village as the attraction celebrate 25 years of family entertainment and independent shopping.

Throughout 2019, Blakemere will take a look back at the history of the location with a series of commemorative events, new site developments and an official birthday celebration for the local community all involving the on-site shops and occupiers.

Blakemere’s chosen charity of the year for this important year is the Joshua Tree, which works with families who are affected by childhood cancers.

Fundraising efforts throughout the year will be in support of the Joshua Tree and their new support centre, which is currently under development in Sandiway.
