DRIVERS are being urged to plan ahead due to closures in the Wallasey Tunnel this weekend.
On Saturday, April 13 the tunnel's exit road to junction 1 of the M53 will be closed from 8pm until 12pm on Sunday, April 14 for resurfacing works.
Vehicles below 3.5 tonnes will be able to use the Birkenhead Tunnel.
Merseytravel say that a diversion will be in place but delays are expected.
On Sunday, April 14 the Mersey Tunnel 10K run will take place and the south tube of the Wallasey Tunnel will be closed from 8.30am until 1.30pm.
During this time a contra-flow will be in operation in the north tube and the Birkenhead Tunnel will be open as usual.
