A WOMAN was treated by paramedics after a kitchen fire in Birkenhead.

Emergency services were called at around 7.25pm yesterday (Wednesday, April 10) to Holborn Hill following reports of a fire in a house.

Two fire engines attended and discovered a fire in the ground floor kitchen.

Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus entered the home under 'rapid deployment', using a hose reel jet and CO2 extinguisher to put out the flames.

One woman was assessed at the scene by paramedics but did not require hospital treatment.

Crews stood down from the incident just before 8pm.
