TWO Northwich firefighters are running this year’s London Marathon to help raise money for two good causes.
Crew manager Steve Campbell and his colleague, firefighter Steve Tucker, will be taking on the 26.2-mile run around the capital on Sunday, April 28.
One beneficiary is Northwich RUFC's junior rugby section, which relies purely on the goodwill of volunteers and fundraising to provide kit and equipment for its young players.
The second charity benefiting from any money raised is Tiny Steps – a Northwich-based charity which helps provides sensory play for children and young people with additional needs and their families.
Steve Campbell said: “Being firefighters at Northwich Fire Station we work to help many groups and organisations as part of our job.
"Running this marathon will take us out of our comfort zone – both mentally and physically – but it will be worth it if we can help both these great causes.”
