LOWER Peover residents are invited to take part in a litter pick as part of a national campaign.

Lower Peover Parish Council has pledged its support for this year’s Great British Spring Clean run by Keep Britain Tidy.

The national campaign will see up to half a million people cleaning up streets, parks and beaches across the country.

Volunteers are invited to join members of the parish council for a couple of hours to support the campaign.

The Lower Peover litter pick takes place on April 27 at 10am from The Crown Inn car park.

Equipment will be provided by the YourStreets Toolbank team at Cheshire West and Chester Council.

Last year Lower Peover won the Best Kept Village Award in its category following a clean-up of the village, and the parish council hopes to continue its success in these annual awards by joining the Great British Spring Clean.

Keep Britain Tidy chief executive Allison Ogden-Newton said: “The Great British Spring Clean is an opportunity for the millions of people who care about the environment on their doorstep to do something positive that will make a visible difference.

“We are delighted that Lower Peover Parish Council is supporting this year’s campaign and would like to thank them for their support.

“Without councils across the country giving the campaign their backing our volunteers would not be able to do the incredible job they do.”
