A MUM is encouraging parents to ask for charity donations this Easter instead of receiving chocolate.

Paula White, from Great Sankey, has asked her family and friends to donate money to RSPCA Warrington rather than buy her 15-month-old daughter Harper Easter eggs.

Harper's birthday was two weeks before Christmas and her family was overwhelmed with presents for the lucky one-year-old.

Instead of this happening again, Paula decided to put something back into the community.

She said: "We don't really let Harper have chocolate because she's so young.

"I thought, instead of people giving her a two pound Easter egg, she could have the money and we'd donate it.

"No matter how little it might be, every pound helps."

Paula decided to donate any money to the animal charity based in Slutchers Lane to help them rescue and rehome abused and neglected animals.

She explained: "The RSPCA had been on my radar for a while.

"I have been trying to think of bits and bobs I could do to help.

"It's just a no brainer really – I don't want to be eating 40 Easter eggs!"

The week after Easter, Harper will be joining her family with a trip to RSPCA Warrington to present the money and Paula is hoping more Warrington families will join them.
