A MAN has died following a four-car crash in Middlewich Road.

Emergency services were called to the scene around 2pm on Sunday, March 10 and one driver was taken to hospital by air ambulance.

Sadly, the man – a 43-year-old from Tarporley – has since died.

A woman in one of the other cars was also taken to hospital as a precaution, and there are not thought to be any other injuries.

A Cheshire Police spokesman said: "Officers attended and discovered that the collision involved four cars – a white Vauxhall Mokka, a black Toyota Corolla, a white BMW 530 and a black Audi A6.

"The road was closed as emergency services dealt with the incident.

"The driver of one of the cars, a 43-year-old man from Tarporley, was airlifted to Royal Stoke University Hospital after being assessed by paramedics.

"Sadly, the man has since died. His next-of-kin have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers."
