THE former Winning Kitchen Centre could be demolished and replaced with seven family homes, should a planning application be approved.
Plans for four semi-detached and three mews homes on the Winnington Lane site have been submitted to Cheshire West and Chester Council.
The business closed in 2017, with the existing showroom building sitting empty ever since.
A planning application outlined proposals for the four-bedroom semi-detached homes to face the road opposite the BP garage, with three townhouse-style three-bedroom homes set back in a small cul-de-sac.
Access would remain the same, to the west of the site between the new homes and the Methodist church.
A planning statement said: “The proposal is to demolish the existing building and redevelop the site to produce seven energy-efficient homes that complement the street scape.
“This spacious site currently consists of a derelict [single storey] kitchen centre building, which has different sections all connected.”
It added: “The layout has been designed to integrate the dwellings with their surroundings.
“We have taken into consideration the orientation in order to maximise the natural energy sources of light and heat from the sun, increasing the energy efficiency and connectivity.”
The application including planning precedence of developments of 89, 45, 58 and 33 homes, respectively, submitted to CWAC in 2017.
An attached brochure extract listed the site’s value as £575,000.
