WEAVER Vale Housing Trust has been named as one of the best places to work in the country.

The trust, which manages more than 6,000 homes in Winsford, Northwich and Cheshire, is in the Sunday Times Top 100 Best Not-for-Profit Companies to Work For in the UK.

Wayne Gales, chief executive at Weaver Vale Housing Trust said: “We’re really proud to be recognised as one of the country’s best places to work.

"The fact that we have been included in this list for the 10th consecutive year is testament to our colleagues who all play their part in making the trust a great place to work.”

This list celebrates and showcases the very best in workplace engagement.

The Best Companies award is based on extensive feedback from employees and covers all aspects of working for a business.

More than 85 per cent of staff gave their feedback.

The trust scored high in a number of areas, particularly around the wellbeing support offered to colleagues.

A series of wellbeing workshops have been organised for staff who can also access further help through external services.

Some 95 per cent of staff agreed that the organisation encourages charitable activities through its Giving Something Back’ scheme.

Weaver Vale was ranked number 22 in the 2019 Sunday Times Best 100 Not for Profit Companies list, three places higher than in 2018.

The trust owns more than 6200 homes, a large portfolio of garages, 36 shops, 11 community play areas and a variety of green open spaces.

The organisation was also ranked in the top five housing associations to work for in the UK.
