BUDDING young thespians are being offered the chance to make their performance debut.

Pea Pod Drama School is recruiting new students.

This independent drama school in Winsford town centre was founded by two professional actors five years ago.

Amelia Sefton, 27, and Richard Oliver, 44, have appeared in TV and film and are now running classes for children aged six to 16.

Amelia said: "We have a combined 40 years experience in the performance industry and teaching. We welcome students with a passion for performing, making friends and expressing themselves in a safe, non judgemental and vibrant environment."

Youngsters will have audition opportunities in TV, film, theatre, radio and doing voice overs.

"We want to give children confidence to get into the real world," said Amelia, who was taught herself by Richard. "Everyone gets speaking roles not matter what age they are.

"Drama is a place where they can come and express themselves. We're like a family, they can be themselves.

"We teach life skills so everyone respects each other."

Amelia has been acting and performing since she was seven.

After training with a local youth theatre she made her TV debut in ITV's Emmerdale and appeared in the soap on and off for several years.

Amelia has led drama classes for children and run workshops for primary school pupils.

She is currently playing the lead role in her latest feature film called Kristen Shadows which is still in production.

Award-winning Oliver is about to record a new feature film for Mercury Pictures Hollywood.

He played Peter in Ghost Dog Films' latest video game I Saw Black Clouds and was the English man in the five star world premier debut production of A Joke, alongside Sylvester McCoy and Robert Picardo.

Amelia added: "We have very different experiences so we make a great partnership. We treat each child as a very unique person and encourage everyone to develop their communication skills.

"We have our own studio and perform several shows a year."

Classes are held every Saturday from 10am to 2.30pm and a drop in drama games class is held on Monday from 4.30pm to 5.30pm.
