THE full map of the new cycling route for IRONMAN UK has been revealed.
The organisers have published the new route map for competitors gearing up for the challenge.
In 2019 for the first time cyclists will ride into the town centre and along Le Mans Crescent as well as taking in more of the surrounding countryside.
Sam Brawn the race director hopes the new route will provide "an intriguing challenge" and variation for the event, now in its 11th year in the town.

The route will begin in Leigh but from Horwich it will take athletes east in a reversal of the previous version of the course, taking in Chorley New Road, Queen’s Park, Bury and Ramsbottom to complete the 112 miles.
From there, competitors will continue north towards Helmshore and Blackburn, where athletes will enter the moorlands descending through Belmont.
