TRAIN enthusiasts turned out as two steam locomotives travelled through Newton-le-Willows yesterday afternoon.
The black 5 (45231) and the 60009 passed through Newton and nearby areas on Monday, with the latter going through Earlestown and Newton-le-Willows stations.

While the black 5 was not built at the Vulcan Works, the former Newton-based manufacturers did create many of the same type.
Both of the steam trains could be viewed both from the Vulcan Village lay-by and Winwick Bridge.
