IT’S all about the love of art at a Northwich town centre coffee shop this month.

Abda’s Café’s exhibition theme throughout February is ‘Artist’s Outlet’ which gives art fans a chance to grab themselves an original piece of work from a selection of talented local artists at a fraction of their usual price.

Among the artists on display are Rebecca Yoxall, who’s selling 131 original works and Matthew Corker, who is selling original pieces and prints from his last collection.

There’s also work by Ian Hill-Smith, known for his acrylic of local landscapes, and displaying for the first time is Tracey John’s whose paintings are vegan.

Zoe Corker, who runs the gallery at Abda’s Café, said: “This type of exhibition is sometimes referred to as an ‘under the bed sale’. It’s a way for artists to display and discount work that is older, something they aren’t working on anymore, things they feel didn’t work or the sketches and test pieces for other works.

“It’s great opportunity for people to get themselves an amazing piece of original art and to support local creative talent.”

And to get customers in the mood for Valentine’s Day, the Crown Street café will also be hosting a pop-up Valentine’s shop on Saturday, February 9.

Zoe added: “After the success of our Christmas shop, we wanted to do something special for Valentine’s Day so we have pulled together lots of independent sellers who are at the top of their game, and who also just happen to be other women in business from all over Northwich.”
