THE Vale Royal String Orchestra will present a concert of popular string music from Bach to Bitten at Vale Royal Abbey this month.
The orchestra will play in the Great Hall at 7.45pm on Sunday, February 17.
New conductor Adam Kornas will be one of the soloists in Bach’s concerto for two violins, alongside Robert Anderson, the orchestra’s leader.
Adam studied at Chetham’s School of Music before moving onto the Royal College of Music in London and then the Royal Northern School of Music.
The concert includes Bach’s Brandenburg Concerto No 3, a Nocturne by Dvořák, Grieg’s Holberg Suite, and the Sarabande from Britten’s Simple Symphony. It will end with Josef Suk’s tuneful Serenade.
Tickets are £12, £6 schoolchildren, and are available from andrewball@martonsands.co.uk or at the door.
