AN application has been submitted to Cheshire West and Chester council to build a new care home in Sandiway.

The proposal is to build a 66-bed care home in the land opposite 613 Chester Road.

A planning statement said: “The development of a 66-bed care home is considered suitable in this location given the predominantly residential nature of the adjoining area; the adequacy of transport links and the sites general accessibility and sustainability.

“The scheme is developed in a configuration which enables the care home to provide for two types of care – general residential and residential dementia. Its plan layout and internal arrangement, allows the home to be spilt into the separate care requirements.”

Crime prevention has been considered in the plans.

The applicant, in a planning statement, said: “The issue of crime has been considered at the design stage and the building is designed so that the orientation allows for natural surveillance.

“The main entrance will overlook the footpaths whilst the car parking area can be surveyed from the back of the house.”
