WITH just over two weeks to go until the season starts, Warrington Wolves have issued a cheeky dig at their opening game opponents.

Wolves take on Leeds Rhinos in their first Super League game of 2019 and warned them not to try any of the alleged 'spygate' tactics employed this week by their football counterparts Leeds United.

The photoshopped image on the Warrington Wolves Instagram account shows Leeds boss Marcelo Bielsa crouching in the background of a Steve Price training session with the caption: 'Don't go getting any ideas from Elland Road, @leedsrhinos!'

The football club hit the headlines after Leeds manager Bielsa admitted to sending a member of staff to watch Championship rivals Derby train ahead of their crunch league tie.

The matter is now being investigated by the Football Association and English Football League despite the Argentine manager saying what he has done is 'not illegal'.

In a remarkable news conference yesterday, Bielsa took matters further showing journalists how much preparation and analysis he and his staff carry out on each opponent before every game in a PowerPoint presentation.

Wolves take on Leeds at the Halliwell Jones Stadium on February 2 at 5.15pm.

Ryan Atkins' testimonial match takes place this Sunday against Widnes.

The pre-season friendly kicks off at 3pm.
