COUNCILLOR Ken Nixon from Cuddington Parish Council has recently been presented with an award in recognition of his long service to the council and the community.

Cllr Nixon has been a member of the council for 45 years and has served as chairman several times.

Julie Chrimes, parish clerk said: “Ken is still a parish councillor and is a truly committed advocate for his constituents, at the statutory meeting in December Ken was presented with the award in recognition of being a passionate member of Cuddington Parish Council for over 45 years.”

Cllr Nixon was a key figure in the delivery of the multi-use games area in Blake Lane, acting as project manager until its completion, and also the Sandiway football field project adjacent to Sandiway primary school.

Ken’s contribution stands out because he has been involved with so much of the parish council’s work, and with so many of the village’s organisations for such a considerable length of time.
