A NORTHWICH band gaining national acclaim as an indie music driving force are kicking off the New Year with a rare homecoming gig at The Salty Dog.

The piano-driven alternative four-piece is made up of Kingsmead brothers Anthony and Daniel Orzel – who attended St Wilfrid's Primary School and later St Nicholas High School – along with former Sir John Deane's College guitarist Dave Bithell and Warrington drummer Drew Burns.

They reached new heights in 2018, with single 'Life in Short' gaining more than 170,000 Spotify streams and festival slots alongside the likes of Razorlight, Maximo Park and Wheatus.

Supported by fellow Northwich group Oceans on Mars, Hazy, and Citrus Heights, the Salty Dog headline gig on January 18 will be their first of an exciting 2019.

Frontman Anthony, who writes alongside his brother, said: "We’re absolutely thrilled to be playing our first gig of the New Year at The Salty Dog in Northwich, back where we grew up.

"We’ve heard great things about The Salty Dog as a venue and those coming to the gig will be the first to hear some of our brand new music for 2019.

"With three up-and-coming bands also supporting us, it’s going to be a brilliant Friday night for music in Northwich.”

With spins on BBC Radio 1 and live appearances on TV in London – as well as a glowing review in the national press – Pacific's singles ‘Life in Short’ and ‘Not Telling You’ are proving popular with new music set for release in early 2019.

A recent seven-day tour promoting their new material included key dates in Manchester, Sheffield, Leeds, Sunderland and Winsford.

Based in High Street, The Salty Dog was recently named one of the top 10 small venues in the UK and has hosted some of the north west's most exciting bands since opening in 2017.

Their online event for Pacific's show said: "Set for world domination, now is the time to be catching these guys!"
