THE Rotary Club of Northwich Vale Royal has again raised thousands for charity through it Christmas activities.
The club's efforts this year included hosting Santa's Grotto at Barons Quay, as well as helping Father Christmas to visit children across Northwich in his sleigh.
Thanks to residents' generous donations and members' hard work throughout November and December, more than £9,000 has been raised.
Rotarian Trevor Meech said: "Once again this year Rotary Northwich Vale Royal are delighted to be able to announce that following our recent Santa activities, both in Santa's Grotto in Barons Quay and on our Sleigh around the Northwich area, we have raised over £9,000 for local charities.
"The money raised from these activities will be distributed to many local charities in the New Year.
"We have also had tremendous support, through benefits in kind, from many local organisations and individuals, there are too many to list here, however you know who you are, for which we thank you.
"Finally many thanks for the support and generosity we have received from the those people within the Northwich area who have donated to our Christmas activities, enabling us to reach this unbelievable sum.
"We wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year."
Santa enjoyed a busy run-up to Christmas in Northwich, spending each Saturday at his Barons Quay grotto and weeknights out on the sleigh around town and the surrounding villages.
