A BILLBOARD of the Golden Gates has gone up in place of the iconic structure.
The historic gates were removed from outside of the Town Hall in October ahead a major £500,000 restoration project.
As reported by the Warrington Guardian last month, a frieze showing the Golden Gates will stand in its place while work is undertaken.
And the temporary structure was put into place on Wednesday, December 12.
The frieze contains an image of the gates, as well as information on the Warrington icon and the project to restore it to its former glory.
It is anticipated that the grade two-listed Golden Gates - which were last refurbished in the late 1970s - will be put back into their familiar place early in the New Year.
The gates are believed to have been originally created as a gift for Queen Victoria, before later being purchased for the town by Cllr Frederick Monks and placed outside the Town Hall.
