A NEW chief inspector has taken the reins at Northwich.
Following the departure of Simon Meegan, who moves to Warrington, Sarah Edgar has taken over as policing commander for the area.
Ch Insp Meegan leaves after three years in the role covering Northwich, Winsford and the surrounding villages.
Ch Insp Edgar, who began her service with CHehsire Police in Northwich 20 years ago, will be focusing on cross-county border criminals, protecting vulnerable people who are ‘cuckooed’ by gangs, and bolstering the presence of officers in the community.
She said: “The whole team of police officers, Police Community Support Officers, Specials, police staff and volunteers are dedicated and committed to tackling crime, dealing with the issues that affect our communities and bringing offenders to justice.
“We will continue to do this in partnership with the community and other agencies.”
