A CARE team in Lostock Gralam has been nominated for prestigious awards in the North West GB Care Awards.

Lianne Webb, home manager at Lostock Lodge Care Home was a finalist in the Care Home Registered Manager Award and her staff were finalists in the Care Home Team Award.

The awards promote best practice within home care and care homes and pay tribute to those individuals who have demonstrated outstanding excellence.

Lianne became manager in April and has led the care team towards delivering the highest standards of care and support for residents.

The home’s recent Care Quality Commission (CQC) inspection reflects the impact of her leadership rating them good for being effective, caring and responsive.

Lianne has mokre than 20 years of experience in the care sector, starting as a care assistant when she left school and working her way up to management level.

“There is nothing I ask anyone to do that I haven’t already done myself, " said Leanne.

“I enjoy working in the care industry because every day is different and I am always faced with a new challenge. I truly believe that our elderly generation deserve the very best of care and consideration.”

Deputy manager Teresa Whalley and Cath Winspear, senior carer represented the team at the awards ceremony at the Mercure Hotel in Manchester.

The team was nominated for their enthusiasm to make a difference to the lives of the residents.

The home’s recent CQC inspection highlighted how the staff team had a good understanding of people’s individual likes and dislikes, their histories, family members, interests and hobbies.

Teresa said: “There is a great rapport at Lostock Lodge between the staff team and with our residents. We always make sure we get to know everyone and consistently treat them with dignity and respect."
