FAMOUS Northwich faces have starred in a promotional video marketing the town as a ‘destination with a difference’.
The video, produced by Studio 24-7 on behalf of the Northwich BID and Cheshire West and Chester Council, combines clips from the year’s eclectic events calendar with scenic shots of the town.
Olympian medallist Beth Tweddle, who attended Hartford Gymnastics Club, and Paralympic pilot cyclist Pete Mitchell from Lostock are among the stars guiding viewers through the town’s attractions and hidden gems.
Also making an appearance are BBC radio presenter Mark Radcliffe, Great British rower Ellie and ‘stuntman’ Archie.
BID manager Jane Hough said: “After recently releasing the all-new Visit Northwich website and branding, we decided that this was the perfect time to release a video showcasing everything that this wonderful town has to offer.
“We wanted to use the video to shine a spotlight on Northwich’s green spaces, independent and national retailers, local heritage attractions and the range of leisure activities that visitors can enjoy here and we feel that the video summarises this perfectly.”
Clips from The Charlatans’ homecoming CW9 festival, October’s NOW Northwich event, the Festival of Arts and River Festival are featured, alongside picturesque shots of the surrounding countryside.
A CWAC spokesman said: “We’re surrounded by great cities such as Manchester, Liverpool and Chester but wanted to highlight the reasons why Northwich truly is a destination with a difference.
“With the huge range of national and independent retailers right next door to beautiful wildlife and historic sites, there’s no reason not to promote Northwich as a day trip and weekend holiday destination.
“We think this video does an excellent job of presenting this and we’re looking forward to hearing the positive reactions from the public.”
